Legal notice
Legal Notice
This Legal Notice applies to products and information provided by Anderson Elk Antlers (“AEA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) through our website and online store.
Our products are made with natural materials and many are handcrafted. Certain products, including elk antler dog chews and fire-starting tools, involve inherent risks when used. Please read all product descriptions, safety information, warnings, instructions, and care guidance before purchasing or using any Anderson Elk Antlers product.
This Legal Notice supplements our Terms of Service and other policies posted on our website.
1. Dog Chew Safety & Disclaimer
For dogs only.
Elk antler is a natural, extremely durable material intended as a chew and is not intended to be consumed as food.
Because every dog is different, no chew can be guaranteed to be appropriate or completely risk-free for every animal.
Supervision Is Required
Always supervise your dog while using an antler chew.
Never leave a dog unattended with an antler chew.
The purchaser and/or pet owner is responsible for monitoring the animal while the chew is being used and determining when continued use is no longer appropriate.
Choosing an Appropriate Chew
Select an appropriately sized and suitable chew based on your dog's:
-
size and weight;
-
age;
-
chewing habits and intensity;
-
dental condition; and
-
individual needs.
Do not allow your dog to swallow large pieces or attempt to consume the entire chew.
If you are uncertain which size or type of antler chew is appropriate for your dog, contact Anderson Elk Antlers for general product-selection information and consult your veterinarian regarding your dog's individual health or dental needs.
Inspect Before and During Use
Inspect the antler chew regularly before and during use.
Remove and discard the chew immediately if it:
-
becomes small enough to swallow;
-
develops sharp or excessively worn edges;
-
cracks;
-
splinters;
-
breaks into pieces that may present a swallowing or choking hazard; or
-
otherwise becomes damaged or unsafe.
Replace the chew when necessary.
Dental, Choking, and Ingestion Risks
Antler is a naturally hard material.
As with other hard dog chews, chewing antler may involve inherent risks including:
-
tooth or dental damage;
-
choking;
-
swallowing pieces of the chew;
-
mouth or gum injury; and
-
gastrointestinal injury or complications resulting from ingestion.
Dogs with aggressive chewing habits, weakened teeth, existing dental concerns, or other individual conditions may have an increased risk of injury.
Antler chews are not appropriate for every dog.
If you have concerns about whether an antler chew is appropriate for your dog, consult your veterinarian before use.
Customer Responsibility
The purchaser and/or pet owner is responsible for:
-
selecting an appropriate chew;
-
supervising the dog during use;
-
inspecting the chew regularly;
-
following all safety information and instructions provided;
-
removing the chew when it becomes worn, damaged, or too small; and
-
determining whether the product remains appropriate for the individual dog.
By purchasing and using an Anderson Elk Antlers dog chew, you acknowledge that dog chews involve inherent risks and agree to use the product responsibly and in accordance with the safety information provided.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Anderson Elk Antlers is not responsible for injury, illness, dental damage, choking, ingestion-related complications, or other harm resulting from improper use, lack of supervision, failure to follow safety instructions, use of a damaged or excessively worn chew, or use of a chew that is inappropriate for the individual dog.
Nothing in this Legal Notice is intended to waive or limit any legal rights, remedies, warranties, or protections that cannot legally be waived or limited.
